We offer an in-house PAT testing service. Bring your portable home electrical items to us and we will test them whilst you wait!

What is PAT testing?
Portable Appliance Testing involves a visual check and electrical test to ensure the safety of electrical items. The check must be done by a PAT test certified individual. It is not required by law to have your electrical items checked, but it is safer to do so.
Why PAT test?
Did you know that approximately 14,000 house fires in the UK are of electrical origin? With people working from home more frequently than ever before it is important that safety checks are carried out on electrical equipment.
Regular testing reduces the chance of electrical shock or fire caused by faulty electrical appliances. Yearly testing can identify faults before they become dangerous. Even new items can be faulty and should be PAT tested.
What items can be tested?
We can test most of your home electrical items including; charging cables, computers, printers, scanners, hairdryers, straighteners, toasters, kettles, lamps, extension cables and even microwaves!
We do not advise bringing in your large white goods for us to test though as they are a bit too heavy! – (But it is still a good idea to get these PAT tested all the same!)
What if the item fails?
Items that fail their electrical safety check can be taken to the Repair Cafe to see if they are repairable. This will save you money from having to replace the item. If the item is beyond repair we will advise on a suitable place for it to be recycled.
