SATURDAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED (2HR SHIFTS) 10AM - 12PM
Volunteer With Share Salisbury
Join the team at Share Salisbury, our community Library of Things and help build a more sustainable and connected Salisbury.
We help local people borrow useful items instead of buying them, saving money, reducing waste, and making everyday projects more affordable.
Whether you’re great with people, enjoy organising, like fixing things, have specialist skills to share, or simply want to support your local community, we’d love to hear from you.
"I really enjoyed working with Share Salisbury as a volunteer as work experience."
Why Volunteer With Share Salisbury?
Volunteering with Share Salisbury is an opportunity to:
– Support people through the cost of living crisis
– Help reduce unnecessary consumption and waste
– Meet like-minded people in the local community
– Learn new skills and gain experience
– Share your existing knowledge and expertise
– Help build a more resilient and sustainable Salisbury
Our volunteer team may be small, but every new volunteer makes a genuine difference.
"I walked in as a worker and came out wanting so much more! No place can get you as interested as Salisbury share."
What Do Volunteers Do?
There is no typical Share Salisbury volunteer. Everyone contributes in different ways depending on their interests, skills, and availability. Here are some of the things volunteers can help us with.
Help members borrow and return items, answer questions, and create a friendly experience in the shop. Use our computer & system to process loans and returns.
Check items are clean, complete, safe, and ready for their next borrower by following our check in maintenance process.
Keep the Library of Things tidy and help ensure items are stored in the right location so they are easily located.
Help maintain items with basic repairs to extend their lifespan and keep equipment available for the community.
Support grant applications, fundraising activities and behind-the-scenes administration.
Assist with social media, promotions, leafleting, community engagement and telling the story of Share Salisbury.
While most volunteering roles require no previous experience, we’d particularly love to hear from people with skills or experience in:
- PAT Testing
- Electrical work
- Tool repair
- Grant writing
- Marketing
- Photography
If you’re a qualified electrician or PAT tester and could occasionally assist with equipment safety checks, we’d be especially pleased to hear from you.
"I was so lucky to find the opportunity to work with Salisbury share to fill out my volunteering section of my bronze D of E experience. Would seriously recommend giving it a shot!"
