We need your help, Salisbury! Share Salisbury, your local Library of Things, is on the hunt for a new home, and time is running out. Are you able to help us find a new home?

Since 2021, Share Salisbury has helped over 1,600 residents borrow everything from DIY tools and kitchen gadgets to camping gear and garden games… even wedding marquees. We’ve helped people renovate homes, host celebrations and find lost rings. We’re proud to be part of Salisbury’s sustainability movement, enabling people to save money, reduce waste, and build a sharing community.

But now, we’re facing a challenge that could put all of that at risk…

Why We're Reaching Out 🚨

Due to understandable circumstances beyond our control, we must move out of our current premises at Churchfields Industrial Estate in January 2026. This space, our beloved “Share Shop”, is where our community comes to borrow and return items, and where we store and manage our entire inventory of 259 useful things.

We are incredibly grateful to Wessex Community Action for providing us with a home for the last four years. Without their kindness, support and use of their unit, we would not be where we are today. This space has allowed us to grow and serve our community in ways we couldn’t have imagined.

However, we’re now urgently looking for a new location to keep Share Salisbury alive and thriving, and we need your help to find it.

What We're Looking For 👀

We’re seeking a space that is:

Around 100 sq. m of usable area
Within 3 miles of central Salisbury
Equipped with electricity, broadband, and access to a toilet/sink
Accessible for volunteers and borrowers, with parking for loading/unloading
Able to accommodate shelving, a small desk, and a few chairs

Ground floor access and flexibility to adapt the space are a bonus. We’re open to temporary or permanent premises, and we’re also exploring the idea of co-locating with other eco-minded groups, such as the Salisbury Eco Hub and Salisbury Repair Cafe, to create a vibrant green hub in the community. However, our priority right now is securing a space for Share Salisbury to continue operating.

Why It Matters 💚

Share Salisbury isn’t just about borrowing things, it’s about community. It’s about making Salisbury more sustainable, more connected, and more resilient at a time when the current cost-of-living seems to be ever-increasing.

With over 700 active borrowers and growing fast, we’ve become a vital part of the city’s environmental landscape. Without a new home to house the Library of Things, we risk losing momentum and the ability to serve the people who have come to rely on our service.
