Our New & Improved Memberships
After running for 1 whole year, we have decided to change up the membership plans to make it cheaper and easier for our members to borrow things! Read on to find out about the changes we have made.
Borrowing for members is now… FREE!*
We want to make borrowing simpler, previously monthly paying members could receive up to 70% discount on the items that they borrowed. By making it free for members to borrow things, we are removing the need for long winded calculations.
*To make sure that things are still available for other members when needed we are offering up to 12 free borrows with membership.
Our New Membership Options…
Due to our opening hours (TUE & FRI 10am-2pm) (SAT 10am-12pm) calculating the amount owed was tricky as even if you want something for just 1 day, you can’t return it until we are next open. Again, this was adding an additional element of maths for both volunteers and borrowers and made prices a bit vague.
A borrow is = Tuesday-Friday, Friday-Tuesday or Saturday-Tuesday. A whole week = 2 borrows. The image below can be used as a guide.
Members now get 10% off refills at Bluebrry Den!!
Not only is borrowing things now loads cheaper, but now your plastic-free shopping is too! You just need to show you Share Salisbury membership card at the till in Blueberry Den to get 10% off refill items.
New membership cards
To help our members keep track of how many borrows they have left and when their membership expires, we will issue members with a beautiful new membership card. Each time you borrow something, you will get a stamp. What happens when the 12 free borrows run out? Well, you will get the opportunity to buy another stamp card for £10-£20 depending on your membership plan. (A bit like when you run out of data on your mobile but have the option to pay for more)
Any ‘thing’ over £15 per borrow will be available to members at 50% discount
Currently the only item we have which is over the £15 per borrow threshold is the 6×4 Gala Marquee. We are not including larger ticket items as free to borrow for members due to the work required in between borrows, we will however be offering 50% off so it is still a very good deal!
New platinum memberships available
For £10 a month you can become a platinum member, this plan gets you 24 free borrows and is good for community groups, businesses, families or regular borrowers who are happy to pay a bit more to support Share Salisbury enabling us to offer reduced price memberships to those on a low income.
Platinum members can have 2 named people on the account and can borrow things that are over £15 too (yes, you can borrow the 6×4 marquee for free!)
No strings attached borrowing still an option
We will still be offering the chance to be a one-off borrower, so if you would rather just borrow things as and when needed you can pay the price per borrow advertised on our website.
You only need to borrow the carpet cleaner and pressure washer for a week to make it worth your while becoming a member. But, we get it, sometimes the no strings attached approach is better suited to some!
